Where do I begin?
Tara...she'll be ok. It took her a while to snap out of it, but she's human... I love how Lafayette is there for her. Sam was there for her too last night. It made me long for what they could have had first season...
Jason and Crystal...I know where that's heading, don't want to give too much away, because I've read the books.
Jesus and Lafayette...Wish we knew more about Jesus...Guess the reveal will be slow if at all...
Ruby Jean...is a trip. I'm dying to know what Lafayette's special power is...I don't think it's metaphorical and I so don't want this show to jump the shark.
Eric...I'll never be able to figure him out. I think that's a tremendously good thing. I knew he had revenge on his mind, but the way he went about it.
Hadley...I'm wondering if they'll diverge from the books with her too.
Sam's Mom...As heavy as she made that suitcase look, I would swear she left out of there with more than what they came in with.
Arlene...I almost feel sorry...
Jessica...She catches on fast and she wants to learn...I love this character...at first I didn't think I would, but she's definitely growing on me. She didn't sit there and cower after King Russell was through with her either. I loved that! She turned the tables on Gus (I'm going to miss him...). I wish she and Hoyt would get back together.
Bill and Sookie...I know it's an old song, but everytime they start up Lauryn Hill's "Ex-Factor" just keeps playing in my head.
The fight between Sookie and Debbie (Man! That woman has a potty mouth!)...I enjoyed it, but I can't help wondering how they'll top it. If they even can. (Again read the books, but the show still keeps you guessing with how it differs.)
Alcide...When is this man going to get some love? Don't think I'd be half as concerned if I didn't need a bib just to look at him, but still...WTF?!

Racialicious.com commentary on True Blood
A lot of interesting stuff is being said...Some of it I already commented on here...Lorena and Bill, and the violence against women in general (as bad as it was last season, it's really terrible this season.) Other things, I missed entirely, like Eric calling Lafayette RuPaul.
Tara this season...I definitely don't like how it almost seems like a rehash of last season...I don't find a character like her unrealistic though...I'm isolated like that...Very few family members (dysfunctional and scattered across states.) I can count on and very few close friends (Black, Hispanic, and White). I don't get why Black people feel the need to be all one thing across the board...I don't think that's realistic, particularly in this day and age. I also wondered at people fussing about Tara and Kenya being angry and oversensitive...I'm like that and I'm real, but that's just one facet of me. Hopefully, Ball and Harris will explore other aspects of Kenya's and Tara's personalities so that these issues can be addressed. Doing that and keeping the story tight is probably extremely difficult, but I know it's not impossible.
I love that Lafayette might have the chance at something nice.
Anyway, check out the article and comments here:

True Blood, Being Human, New Hulk cast in Avengers...
Found out I'm allergic to nickel today. Bizarre (The clasp to the chain on my work badge if that's not positively Freudian, I don't know what is. ).
Being Human - New episodes start on July 24th. WooHoo!
True Blood - Bill's starting to scare me and not in a good way...Eric's sneaky, but I don't recall him being so quick to hit a chick and he was a Viking for pity's sake.
Also Arlene...How long does she think she's going to be able to conceal the fact that she's pregnant from Sam?
Tara-Poor baby...She needs to take back control...I'm not sure how, but I miss the way she was in Season 1.
Promo spot for Damon from The Vampire Diaries - Damon-O, Damn--Didn't know whether to laugh or moan or both.
The Passage -- I'm about a third of the way through this. One thing I can say for sure about it...It is very hard to put down.
I finished Etta James's autobiography...I decided to read it after seeing Cadillac Records. Fascinating, inspiring, and harrowing...Jimi Hendrix's nickname gave me a tickle.
As far as The Beatles fans getting ticked off about Lady Gaga at John's piano...Everyone has a right to their opinion, don't get me wrong, but no one down here walks on water. You dig? And before you ask I enjoy Beatles, John Lennon's solo stuff and some of Gaga's stuff.
My insomnia is back...I'm pretty sure the causes are stress on the job [again!] and some other things that I'm trying to work my way through. I'm pretty hopeful I can resolve just about everything though...
New Hulk casting...Umm I like the idea of Mark Ruffalo a lot better than I like the idea of Joaquin Phoenix...Again, excellent actor, just not for this.
I feel like I'm forgetting to blog about something (I know I've been all over the place...I'm sorry. Focusing is hard for me. Oddly enough I was never diagnosed with ADD as a kid.).
My doctor's office ticked me off so badly this morning! Since when is it ok for a doctor's office to cut the answering service off with no warning. (They said the faxed a referral and didn't. I didn't have the time to waste, so I'm cutting them loose.)

If I can just get through tomorrow evening in one piece I will be a happy camper indeed.

True Blood...It Hurts Me Too (Spoilers!!!)
Lafayette...I can't say enough, how happy I am that they let the character live on the show...He makes the series for me.
Sam...His family is a mess...lol...I sort of understand the kid brother's resentment though...It'll be interesting to see how or when he gets over it...I'd love to know what the mother's deal is...She seems very passive aggressive...I don't like how she made excuses for hubby getting drunk either.
Tara...I would love just once for her to have a healthy relationship. S1...she's crushing on Jason and pushing Sam away...S2...there was Eggs and Maryann's role in that whole thing. S3...I forgot vamp dude's name, but he just rolled her both literally and figuratively...I understand that she was vulnerable, but Sheesh! I'd love it if she'd catch a break...if only because of what her mother put her through.
Arlene...I wish she'd have told Terry the truth while the getting was good...she could have gotten a word in edgewise if she'd wanted to. I don't think he'd have left her...Now, he very well might.
Pam...is a trip. She is another character that makes the show that much more entertaining.
Jessica...I knew not getting rid of that body was going to bite her in the a#!. I just wasn't sure how...
Sheriff Dearborne...quitting...I laughed aloud at that speech...(Not as hard as I did at that Snoop Dogg video for Sookie, but that's another post altogether.)
Eric...he didn't really grab my attention this week...
Alcide...Oh yeah! and bouncer dude [wish I'd caught a name. *sighs*] he was getting info from...Lets hear it for the werewolves! Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm.
Bill...I didn't know whether to feel bad for him or creeped out or both and what he did to Lorena or what she let him do to her...I thought he was going to kill her at first...then she kept talking and seemed to enjoy it...What woman would get off on that? To be that deeply in love (or to be that determined not to let go) is just crazy scary to me . Then you had that imagery...That's going to stick with me for a long time and not in a good way. I know Sookie would probably be sickened if she knew...As sneaky/manipulative as Eric can be, I'm not sure she'll go running into his arms either...I know how the books go though, so this paves the way nicely...

True Blood 3rd Season Premiere Commentary--Spoilers!
I watched this and I was dismayed that Tara would decide to try and take her own life after Eggs was killed...somehow, I thought the character was stronger than that, but everyone handles grief differently...so I chalked it up to that.
Arlene...Insensitive much??!!! [Tara overreacted to both Tara and Sookier, but still...]
Kenya...I think she was salty at Sookie partially because of Eggs too.
Bill and Sam...Wow! That Sam was dreaming that...
Jessica...Poor baby...was it shock and paralyzing fear that kept her from figuring out that she needed to dispose of the body away from the house. I thought it was sweet that Hoyt wants to stick with her too...
Lafayette...He handled his biz last night...
Pam...I like how direct she was with Eric...
Sophie-Ann and Eric...Can't wait to see how they get themselves out of this...Hopefully it won't cost either Bill or Lafayette...
Jason and Det. Andy Bellefleur...That's going to blow up in their faces big time...and when Tara finds out, I doubt she'll look at Jason the same way again...They should have fessed up, hiding stuff just makes them look as if they have something to hide...Dude was wilding out and he had a knife...I don't care if he was purple with green polka dots, white or whatever. Self-defense isn't wrong...Only two people, both of whom were white, saw this, so of course any POC is going to be skeptical (Malice Green anyone?). And before someone sends me a barrage of e-mails or floods my comments field, I'm a woman of color. I try to be objective, but True Blood has a tendency to bring up some very heavy race issues at times...It doesn't make me want to stop watching at all, if anything it makes me curious to see the twists and turns the show will take...It also provokes thought...Not a lot of shows out there do this for me.
Lettie Mae...Why does she think that overparenting now, makes up for underparenting for X amount of years? You can't undo what's been done...you can only be patient, do the best you can do to prove you're going to do better and go from there...I think she's afraid of having no one(which I can understand)...especially after how Lafayette feels about her.
Can't wait to see the werewolves. }:D
Was very pleased to see Don Swayze.
Need to order another case of TruBlood before the season's over.

TruBlood
Just got my first shipment of TruBlood yesterday. I love it! I'll have to post a pic sometime next month. :) The taste of it reminds me of something else (in a good way) and I can't think if it's Jones Soda or what, but like I said, it's great! Even looking at the bottle gives me the biggest tickle. Speaking of True Blood, I saw a poll on a website where they were asking which is better the Twilight series or True Blood. I was like are they kidding? Some people like both, I'm sure, because they're both about vampires. Plus, I think you're talking about two different audiences here, those that like their romantic displays subtle and those that are a little more... flexible. Then, there are some who like neither...I think like pretty much everything boils down to, it's a matter of personal opinion.

True Blood is back on
I caught the first new episode of True Blood last night.
I was ecstatic about Lafayette (I'm not going to give away any spoilers.). I think at some point the series definitely takes a different path then the books do.
I like that Tara is African-American in the TV series too. It adds a depth to the show that I don't think the books have too much of. I can't wait for them to introduce the werewolves. Then things will get even better (hopefully).
Anyway, back to last night. The bratty, little newbie vampire (Jessica?) is getting on my nerves.
Arlene's constantly mentioning that she broke nine out of ten nails cracked me up.
I think the scene between Sookie and Bill was a little too much. You know, the part where she says"" in this breathy voice.
Eric getting highlights in his hair...that bothered me a little bit. Aren't Norsemen/Vikings supposed to be natural blonds? I also wonder what's going on in his basement.
Sam...I feel sorry for poor Sam. I don't know why, but I don't quite trust Eggs (that's an odd name/nickname). I think Tara is making a mistake. I wonder what type of supernatural creature Maryann is going to turn out to be. This kind of reminds me of 5th season BtVS, when no one knew what Glory was for a while.
The part where Sookie was boxing up her grandmother's stuff touched me. I still haven't gone through all my mother's stuff yet. Partially, because I don't want to do it without my sister, but I think there's more to it than that. I think that if I finally get rid of, pack away or donate her things, things about her will start fading from my memory, and I don't want that.
