Why is it...?

Why is it that stuff inevitably goes on sale, the week after you're paid? CVS had some patio/deck chairs on sale, unfortunately I can't buy them now. Another little snag I've hit, is that I don't drive or own a car. I don't care what time of day it is, I'll be damned if I want to walk down the street carrying two deck/patio chairs. Maybe I can work something out with my sister (who does drive.)
