What's happening to education in this country?

I just got a call from a grown woman who doesn't know what a call number is. I described where you'd find it on books at the library and she still didn't know. If that doesn't say something about the sad state of education in this country, I don't know what does. At least she knew to ask for the ISBN number so, there's hope, but I've just never heard of that before. Scary.
